Kate Harris is the founder and owner of The Kate Harris Group, where she helps organizations navigate change with integrity and curiosity, bringing a thoughtful and strategic approach to leadership. With a sense of humor and adventure, she embraces the challenges that come with transitions, making the process engaging and effective. With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, she has worked in program and director roles with the National Wildlife Federation, the Ecology Center, and Build It Green. She later became a managing consultant for Marts & Lundy and most recently served as Director of Consulting for NEW – Nonprofit Enterprise at Work. Throughout her career, Kate has guided organizations through major transitions, from strategic affiliations to mergers and acquisitions, ensuring they remain mission-driven and structurally sound. She is passionate about collaboration and believes that every organization deserves an approach that aligns with its values and vision.

Kate founded The Kate Harris Group after experiencing firsthand the challenges of organizational change. In 2019, she landed her dream job leading a team of analysts at a boutique consulting firm, only to face an unexpected acquisition. Drawing on her expertise in fundraising, board development, executive coaching, strategy, and DEI consulting, she embraced the transition as an opportunity to help others do the same. Today, she works with nonprofits to identify the right partnerships, strengthen their impact, and build long-term sustainability. Beyond her work, Kate is dedicated to community service, volunteering with Peace Neighborhood Center and serving on the Steering Committee of the Collaboration Consultant Community of Practice, as well as Treasurer of the Barton Boat Club.
