#MergerMondays: Cambridge Volunteers + Cambridge Nonprofit Coalition
Cambridge’s nonprofit community is built on connection with more than 300 organizations, leaders, volunteers and residents working together to strengthen the city. Today, there’s even more to celebrate! Cambridge Volunteers is joining Cambridge Nonprofit Coalition, bringing two longtime collaborators together to create one stronger, more connected hub for Cambridge’s nonprofit community. The Kate Harris Group is proud to have facilitated this transition and excited to have supported both organizations along the way.
For years, Cambridge Nonprofit Coalition has strengthened the nonprofit sector by bringing leaders together, building skills and connections, and giving nonprofits a unified voice with the City of Cambridge. With 100 member organizations and a record of securing significant resources for the sector, CNC has helped nonprofits collaborate, grow and advocate for their communities.
Cambridge Volunteers has built a complementary kind of connection: a bridge between residents who want to give their time and organizations that need them. Its volunteer database, workshops, learning communities and annual Volunteer Fair have helped community members find meaningful ways to contribute.
Now, those strengths can work together. By coming under one roof, CNC and CV can connect volunteer recruitment and engagement with leadership development, training, advocacy and city relations. The volunteer database remains open and free, the Volunteer Fair will continue, and the programs and relationships that people value will carry forward.
