#MergerMondays: Nonprofits Helping Nonprofits

Some nonprofits exist to serve communities directly. Others exist to strengthen the organizations that do. This week’s two mergers spotlight the latter—capacity builders choosing alignment to expand their ability to support institutions, businesses, and mission-driven partners. Their decisions to unite are about creating clearer pathways and stronger infrastructure in the nonprofit sector.

Allegiance Group and Pursuant have officially launched AGP, bringing together decades of experience in direct mail, digital fundraising, marketing, branding, analytics, and technology under one unified brand. This integration is designed to measure performance across the full donor journey. AGP partners with nationally recognized healthcare systems, public media organizations, and major food banks, delivering measurable results through integrated campaigns, donor experience strategy, web and application development, and technology-enabled solutions. By consolidating expertise into one platform, AGP strengthens its ability to help nonprofit clients build donor loyalty, increase long-term value, and navigate an increasingly complex fundraising environment.

In Kentucky, the Louisville Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) and Greater Louisville Inc. (GLI) voted on February 25 to merge and form One Louisville Inc., effective March 1. One Louisville will operate as a 501(c)(6) governed by a 60–70 member board and supported by a five- to seven-member 501(c)(3) foundation. With 32% of its funding coming from public dollars, the new entity consolidates economic development, talent attraction and retention, member services, and advocacy under one roof, positioning itself as the clear “front door” for businesses seeking to invest in or expand within the region.

What makes both of these moves compelling is that they represent a choice. Instead of competing for funding or relevance, these organizations chose collaboration. They chose to share infrastructure rather than protect silos, and to build unified platforms that make it easier for others to succeed. When organizations dedicated to strengthening others model that kind of alignment, the ripple effects extend far beyond their own walls.
